mitchell’s “little vehicle” was pretty cute, and the concept was interesting, but even urban planning was hardly touched on. disappointing.
wikipedia is wrong (he isn’t an architect), but he’s still a pretty cool guy with some interesting things to say. representation and the unbuilt - interp?
preston scott cohen was probably the best speaker in the lecture series. his enthusiasm and interest in everything made it easy to listen to his ideas.
regarding the monochromatic quality of my second attempt of the corbu analytical drawings, i can only say, “colors?! there’s no colors in modernism!”
as unbelievable as it might seem, i sometimes get fed up with technology and its restraints. this is where i’m at right now: i have about 600 images that i want to compile. i know what i want it to look like in the end, but i don’t know how to get there. and so, failing at this, i am starting from scratch and going in a completely new direction. because that’s what i do.
lecture wasn’t particularly good and neither was most of the work. there didn’t seem to be much behind it, or if there was, he failed to mention it.
culmination of the joints. would have been nice to have been able to use everyone’s instead of just half the studio’s. but no more woodshop!
sarah dunn lecture was reasonably entertaining. didn’t quick get the thick -> thin thing, or, i thought i did, but not so much. but…yea.
